Voice training and breathing
Find your voice
We are going to sing, listen and breath.
We have to work with physical exercises, performance games, explore how voice, body and mind are inextricably linked.
We will talk about the anatomy of the voice and breathing, performance, stress, nervousness and much more.
Meet the teacher
Anne Eldridge
Anne is a certified singing teacher from the “Anne Rosing Sanginstitut” and a performing singer herself. In addition, she has a Cand. degree from Roskilde University and Musicology.
She sets the framework for musical and aural immersion, where you geek out, are challenged and explore your own voice.
The subject
The subject will consist of a mixture of physical training, masterclass, interpretation exercises, solo time, anatomy and immersion.
We will always start the day slowly and with physical exercises, then it will vary whether we sing together, sing solo, speak, do a performance, listen or something else entirely.
Everyone can join – whether you are a singer, storyteller, actor or just interested in finding your voice. We will use music as a basic element in the teaching, but large parts of the teaching will be about physical exercises, performance, tone of voice, concentration, anatomy etc., so musical level should not prevent you from taking part.
We will work with:
- Breathing and respiratory support
- Body balance and rest positions
- How stress and anxiety affect the voice
- How we create presence and concentration when performing
Nervousness and Stress
When we work with the voice and breathing, we also have to work with the nervous system – because voice, body and mind are inextricably linked. Therefore, many of the exercises we do also have a good and relaxing effect on a stressed system. In this way, you get specific exercises from the subject, which can be used in periods of high stress or nervousness.
